Car Shipping
Bekins Worldwide offers automobile shipping to various countries on a regular service. We offer
several options. Autos can be shipped in their own FCL or by groupage service 20' or 40' steel
containers, or by RORO service.
Containers
Your auto is driven into the container, then blocked and braced by wood to secure that there is
no movement during transit. Should you decide to ship your personal effects in the same container,
they are loaded first, then a wooden wall installed between the goods and the auto. On occasion,
we may need to build a deck over the auto if we require more space for your effects.
Roro Service
Several countries can be served by this method although the service is not as frequent as the
regular container vessel route. Your auto is driven onto a specially equipped car ferry, then
tied down to secure that there is no movement during transit and covered to protect the auto
from various weather elements.
Importing Motor Vehicles Into Canada
No vehicle may be imported into Canada unless it meets Canadian Safety Standards. Vehicles
purchased in countries other than Canada and the U.S.A. are not eligible for importation unless
specifically ordered to meet Canadian safety and emissions standards. If you ship a vehicle to
Canada which does not bear the statement of compliance label affixed by the manufacturer, you
will have to export the vehicle out of Canada and are liable for a fine of up to $5,000.00 Cdn.
The only exception is for vehicles manufactured over 15 years or more prior to importation.
